Theater director, playwright, technopolitical strategist, independent consultant and activist, in 2017 Rolling Stone<\/a> magazine chose Simona Levi as one of the 25 people who are shaping the future.<\/p>\n

Since 2018 she has been designing and co-directing the Postgraduate Course in Technopolitics and Rights in the Digital Era<\/a> first at the Pompeu Fabra University, then at the University of Barcelona. <\/p>\n

She is the initiator of projects such as Xnet – Institute for Democratic Digitalisation and Digital Rights – or 15MPARATO, which has led to the conviction of 65 politicians and bankers, of which 15 were imprisoned, among which is the ex-minister of economy of Spain and ex-president of the International Monetary Fund. <\/p>\n

In 2021, she published the report “Proposal for a sovereign and democratic digitalization of Europe” for the Publications Office of the European Union at the request of the President of the European Parliament.<\/p>\n

Simona Levi is author of several books. Notable amongst which are “Fake You -An Activist\u2019s Guide to Defeating Disinformation<\/strong> \u2013 Don\u2019t blame the people, don\u2019t blame the Internet. Blame the power\u201d <\/a>(2024); \u201cProposal for a Democratic and Sovereign Digitalisation of Europe<\/strong><\/a> (Report for the EP-2021)\u201d., \u201c#FakeYou \u2014 Fake news y desinformaci\u00f3n<\/strong> \u2013 Gobiernos, partidos pol\u00edticos, medios de comunicaci\u00f3n de masas, corporaciones, grandes fortunas: monopolios de la manipulaci\u00f3n informativa y recortes de la libertad de expresi\u00f3n<\/a>\u201d (#FakeYou: Fake News and Disinformation \u2013 Governments, political parties, mass media, corporations, big fortunes: monopolies of information manipulation and cuts in freedom of expression<\/em><\/strong>), edited by Rayo Verde in 2019; “Votar y cobrar. La impunidad como forma de gobierno<\/strong><\/a>” (Vote and charge. Impunity as a form of government<\/strong><\/em>) – coauthor with Sergio Salgado -, narration of how her group has initiated the campaign that uncovers the Bankia Case, the leakage of Blesa’s mails and the Black Cards (published by Capitan Swing in 2017); \u201cTecnopol\u00edtica, internet y r-evoluciones<\/strong>\u201d (Technopolitics, the Internet and R-evolutions<\/strong><\/em>) – about the key role of digital networks in #15M -, and she has edited \u201cCultura libre digital \u2013 Nociones b\u00e1sicas para defender lo que es de todxs<\/strong>\u201d (Free Digital Culture: Basic Notions for Defending What Belongs to Everyone<\/strong><\/em>). Both these books were published in 2012 by Icaria.<\/p>\n

Her shows have been performed in theatres and festivals throughout Europe and she has created high-impact festivals like OXcars<\/a> and InnMotion<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She is a member of the Working Group on European Digital Sovereignty and Digital Commons and Infrastructures of the General Directorate of Strategic Planning of the Ministry for Digital Transformation of the Government of Spain.
\nShe is and has been speaker in the media and advisor to countless citizen organizations and institutions such as the Justice Department of Catalonia on the Whistleblowers\u2019 Law, the Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence of the Government of Spain<\/a>, the Directorate of Digital Society and the General Directorate of Digital Administration of the Generalitat of Catalonia<\/a>, the Cultural Rights Plan of the Ministry of Culture<\/a>, Evaluator of the European Commission on projects eligible for funding in the field of improving democracy, Bithabitat –Platform of Urban Innovation of the Barcelona City Council<\/a>, the Internet and Digital Innovation Research Center i2CAT Foundation<\/a>, the Advisory Board on Human Rights of Catalonia or the European Public Mosaic \u2013 Open Journal on Public Service<\/a> of the School of Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya.<\/p>\n

She has been featured in the 15M from Barcelona and in the movements for the right to housing.
