{"id":16993,"date":"2019-06-10T17:06:49","date_gmt":"2019-06-10T15:06:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xnet-x.net\/?p=16993"},"modified":"2023-09-18T10:52:44","modified_gmt":"2023-09-18T08:52:44","slug":"xnet-registra-en-el-congreso-la-primera-transposicion-de-ley-de-alertadores-de-la-ue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.xnet-x.net\/en\/press-conference-xnet-first-transposition-whistleblowers-directive\/","title":{"rendered":"Xnet registers in the Spanish Parliament the first transposition of the Whistleblowers&#8217; Directive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A draft law proposed by Xnet, and registered in the Spanish Parliament thanks to the support of various MPs.<\/strong><br \/>\nWith this campaign headed up by Xnet, Spain is set to be the first country in the European Union to transpose the European Directive for the Whistleblowers\u2019 Protection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On Thursday, June 13,<br \/>\n\u00a0at 12 noon,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Draft Law<\/strong> was presented to the press.<br \/>\n<strong> Xnet<\/strong> is a pioneering organisation in Spain leading the way in the defence of whistleblowers, anticorruption and democracy innovation in the digital era.<br \/>\nXnet is <strong>member of WIN<\/strong> (Whistleblowing International Network).<\/p>\n<p>The Draft Law was registered shortly after the opening of the registry in the Parliament, on 30 May. It was registered with the support of  <strong>15 MPs following <\/strong> of according to the <strong>usual methodology applied by Xnet<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/xnet-x.net\/hazlo-tu-proposiciones-ley-congreso\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/xnet-x.net\/hazlo-tu-proposiciones-ley-congreso\/<\/a>).<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Participants in the press conference:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Xnet: Simona Levi<\/strong>, founder and co-author of the law together with the legal team led by <strong>M\u00edriam Carles<\/strong>; <strong>Sergio Salgado<\/strong>, co-spokesperson;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Luis Gonzalo Segura<\/strong>, former army lieutenant and <strong>whistleblower<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Mollinedo<\/strong>, <strong>General Secretary<\/strong> of the Union of Technicians of the Ministry of Finance (Gestha);<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Pam Bartlett Quintanilla<\/strong>, activist for democracy and <strong>adviser<\/strong> to the Greens \/ ALE Eurogroup, one of the people who have most closely on this dossier in the European Parliament;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Julio Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>, president of the Platform for Honesty;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Other whistleblowers and organizations that work with them;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The <strong>Mps Xavier Eritja<\/strong> (ERC) and <strong>Joan Baldov\u00ed<\/strong> (Comprom\u00eds) on behalf of the MPs registering.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Xnet has also explain the negotiations it is heading up with other MPs to ensure enough support for the bill to be passed by the Spanish Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>As the Xnet text is a milestone for the fight for whistleblowers in Europe, the following organisations and persons have signed a statement in support:<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>STATEMENT<\/p>\n<p>The undersigned organisations and individuals, all of whom have extensive experience in the fight for regulations to defend those who blow the whistle on systemic abuses, support the Comprehensive Whistleblowers\u2019 Law created by Xnet.<\/p>\n<p>It marks an extremely important milestone as the first transposition of the European Whistleblowers\u2019 Directive we have all fought for.
